Kerry Katona

Kerry Katona was born in Warrington, Cheshire on the 6 th September 1980 and came into the limelight as part of the hugely successful girl band Atomic Kitten. She left the band in 2001 to give birth to her first daughter Molly. Kerry’s second daughter, Lilly-Sue was born in February 2003.

Since then, Kerry has had a varied career. Her natural confidence, vivacious personality and ability to overcome adverse conditions was shown in January 2004 when Kerry entered the Australian Jungle. The British public took her to their hearts and overwhelmingly voted her Queen of the Jungle in I’m A Celebrity… .Get Me Out Of Here 2004 (ITV1). In January 2005, Kerry filmed My Fair Kerry (tx Summer 2005) – a 90 minute special for ITV1 in which the challenge was to see if the Warrington lass could be turned into an Austrian Aristocrat!

Her presenting career has continued the varied theme and given her huge amounts of experience in many difficult environments. She’s been a regular presenter on Loose Women (ITV1) since the first series, presented “Greatest Windup Moments 2005”and “Greatest Windup Moments 2006” (both Five), was a panellist the Irish Talent Show “You’re a Star” (RTE), co-hosted Britain’s SexiestLive (ITV1), travelled the world presenting the dating show Elimidate (ITV1) and co-hosted Toy of the Year (ITV1) with Eamonn Holmes in December 2003.

In addition to this, she has also presented This Morning Half Term Holidays, SM:TV and CD:UK (ITV1), MTV Select, Pepsi Chart Show (Five), Liquid News ( BBC 3), Exclusive (Five), Children InNeed, Belfast ( BBC 1), and web presenter for the first ever Top of the PopsAwards.

Alongside her presentation work, Kerry has proved that she’s not only a natural in the TV studio, but also on film. She shot her first lead role during the Summer of 2004 playing Denise in Showbands, set in Ireland during the 1960’s. When it transmitted in January 2005, it received an unprecedented 42% audience share.

Due to the success of Showbands, not only has Kerry recently completed filming its sequel, Showbands 2 (premiered January 2006), Showbands was also nominated for Best Drama at the Irish Film and Television Awards 2005.

Showing her versatility, and proving her natural acting ability, Kerry made her stage debut in the hugely successful run of the Vagina Monolgues at the Palace Theatre in Manchester.

Kerry continues to write her weekly column for OK! Magazine and despite her busy work and family life, Kerry is continuing her loyal role as the ambassador for The Princes Trust.
