Marina Laslo is a singer violinist and performer - beauty passion and elegance court us in both voice and vision in this unique soprano's crossover.
Marina represents a new generation of young artists who hold strong passion in contemporary opera as well as in musical theatre.
Following her classical course of studies and graduation at the College of Music and Conservatoire in St Petersburg, Marina made her solo professional singing debut in 1998 performing classical Russian romances and popular opera arias. In 1999 she won the 'Silver Key' City competition in St Petersburg for Soprano 3 octaves.
Since them she has given many solo performances developing her unique style with a repertoire ranging from classical through to modern music. Ahead of her time, at ease singing opera or contemporary tunes Marina also sings in three languages, English, Italian and Russian.
In 2002 Marina reached the final stage of the BBC Radio 2 Voice of Musical Theatre competition in Cardiff. Her studies in this respect were developed in the UK under the direction of Mary Hammond at the Royal Academy of Music.
Her first solo album entitled 'Unfinished Portrait' was released in 2002 and has brought Marina much public and media attention.
Her UK recordings of 'Caruso' and 'Ave Maria' have won acclaim for their original and haunting performances.
Marina is a well-known crossover singer in her native country. She is featured regularly on TV and radio stations in Russia, and her current videos are being show on Classic FM TV in the UK.
Currently Marina resides in the UK.
